Pedro Adão is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Instituto Superior Técnico (IST) and a researcher from Instituto de Telecomunicações. He obtained his PhD degree in Mathematics in 2006 at the Technical University of Lisbon.
In the past few years he has taught the MSc courses on Software Security, Networks and Computer Security, and Software Quality, and the PhD courses Computational Models in Security, and Security Engineering, and is a faculty member of the FCT-Doctoral Programme in the Physics and Mathematics of Information.
His research interests range from Mathematical Foundations of Cryptography to ``Physical" and Applications' Security.
Pedro Adão has led (and co-lead) several research projects and currently coordinates the Security Team@Tecnico initiative, a team of students that participates in security-related competitions and currently ranks as one of the top-50 teams in the world (top-20 if restricted to academic teams).
